The fact that #4 of our choice of the best beaches was Ponta Negra, Natal, which is in Rio Grande do Norte, is because we have actually been there: in December 2005 – so yes we agree: there are a lot of beautiful beaches there.

That’s also the part of Brazil that most of us Scandinavians goes to, both as charter trips, but also on our own.

Beautiful beaches and the cleanest air in the world (except for Antartica but who would want to go there!)

I’m not sure how I came across it really – just surfing or stumbling I guess but I’m glad I did. Keep up all the great posts and pictures. Love it!

When we are all getting a bit tired of the winter and feel that spring is soon on its way. I love beaches, always have. My parents used to say I was half fish as a child because I just wanted to be in the water all the time…thanks for the good memories!

I’d prefer a beach in a less well known place where there isn’t a single tourist in sight anywhere…

I surf though so I may biased.

I have been to beaches in Hawaii, and they are spectacular if you surf, Costa Rica, Chile, Spain, Venezuela , Brazil the Caribbean etc and each has something special, even the beach on the rocky coast of Maine. If I had to get stuck at one forever it would be a beach somewhere in Tasmania or Australia but I’m easy.

I’ve never been to Crete, that looks interesting.

This all makes me very sad I have no vacation for some time. ;(
