This is photos I took of an old magazine from 1923 telling us about the shoe fashion for this old time in Sweden.
Actually it hasn’t change that much, has it? *s*
Sorry, no more modern shoes picture, it’s too hot here to do anything and I’ve been too busy celebrating both the Swedish National day and a true Swedish graduation – see photos in the two posts below!
Captain Oldie Lifecruiser
Yes, I was thinking of the same thing. Nothing much has changed in the style of shoes.
WOW! I think those styles are IN again! Right?
Style seems the same, just a few more or less details here and there.
Have a great weekend!
Shoes never seem to go out of style. I try to limit the number of shoes I’ll bring on a cruise.
awesome that you were able to find that old ad. I agree, not much has changed.
This is a GREAT picture!!! I love it!!
hoo haha.
very special! shoot from newspaper!
so keep it on! thanks ur sharing!
have a nice weekend!
I believe that those are what people call “sensible shoes”! Try to stay cool over there!
You could easily wear these shoes today ! I think they dig in the past to create “new” fashion ! BTW now I am back from Turkey. I arrived home this afternoon and am happy to type on my keyboard instead of a turkish one ! That wasn’t easy ! they had two different types of “i” and it took me 1/2h to find that out, I couldn’t log in to my blog ! You should have seen the Internet Café full of men who looked at me as if I were ET in person ! A woman in an Internet Café ! Never seen ! and an “old” one on top of it !
Right! Totally IN
Welcome back home Gattina!! Ha ha, I can totally see their face expressions…. Good that they finally could see a capable woman
Not like Sanni, that did bring 411 (I think) shoes to the first cyber cruise then… *giggles*
What a fun and interesting pic!
Beautiful shoes! A flash back in the past and we discover that shoes are the same! I’ ve bought sandal with high hells to be taller this summer!
What a neat bit of fashion history. Thanks for sharing it.
There is some change since 1923 and that is he wonderful woman of Lifecruiser’s Captain and A-team wearing them (the shoes I mean – in case you don’t get it:-)
Talking about steaming hot weather: you might like to come over and see how the crazy Norwegian Vikings goes skinny dipping in the fountains today:-)
Great take on the theme this week sweetie! I love the old ad!!! If shoe designers looked up these old ads, I bet 10-1 they would be “designing” that very shoe for the fashion fad of the year!
I want a pair of those first white ones….
size (ahem) 41?
I’m sure you’re beautiful what ever you wear Claudie
That is great. I love the old catalogs that show what the fashions were back then.
The really good styles come and go…and come back again! Love ‘em!
Have a great Swedish National Day and enjoy the graduation!
Looks like the ones the sell today.
Neat pictures!
Great post for “shoes”. With all the shots of peoples shoes they wear now, it’s nice to have a reminder of “the way things were”. I like to top pair.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment on my “shoes”.
Hey, your post totally makes me think of the scene in the recent flick starring Kirsten Dunst, “Marie Antoinette,” where they gorge on decadent pastries and try on the finest shoes of the day -shoes like these.
Have you seen the movie?
Would you look at those old shoes?! Nice choice for The Hunt.
Great take on the photo hunt this week! Loved how you incorporated history in your post. And yeah, it didn’t really change that much.
Happy weekend!
Oh yes, I thought of that too – of course I’ve seen it.

Oh, yes, you’re right, the ones wearing them are different. Real different. With my writing I would have caused scandals back then…. *giggles*
I can imagine the skinnydipping very well… *giggles*
Were these shoes comfortable?? I don’t think so!
