Renny has managed to leave comments at my blog using open id….so it can be done….but I think a lot of it is trial and error…

Well, maybe I don’t get all there is to OpenID, but I don’t think that it works. I’ve tried two OpenID sites. It works for the free WordPress.com version yes, but not for all of us that has own domains on webhotels accounts.

Yes, there is a work around where you’re supposed to edit your theme (template) files, but I don’t call that a solution because that means that I have to do that for every time I change theme – which I plan to do – plus opens up for spammers. It’s just not a clean and smooth solution.

MyOpenID.com allows you to leave your blog address in your profile, but that is not a smooth solution. I don’t want my potential visitors to come to an ugly profile page at another OpenID site, I want them to come DIRECT to my blog (like it does if you’re on the free WordPress.com). No extra clicks thank you because that means that I’m going to lose some of them on the way. We all knows that internet users hate to click extra.

OpenID.org doesn’t let me leave my blog address anywhere in my profile at all.

Blogger has for a long while now, sent bloggers to the Blogger blog’s profile instead of the blog in itself and I just hate that. some bloggers have several blogs and how is I suppose to know which one I shall choose? I’ve no intention to go through all their blogs. So: I skip them. And I’m probably not the only one… Sorry..

They seem to have made a genuine mistake and they are trying to correct it. Like I said, I wish they’d have that comment feature fixed like in WordPress. It will be so easy to comment then.
