We did another sightseeing with Tor one day at our Mariestad trip, to the Sjötorp Harbor, where there are a lock in the summertime for the Göta canal.

Sweden: Sjötorp Harbor

The 190 kilometer long Göta canal with it’s 58 locks was constructed already in the early 19th century and is a sister canal to Caledonian Canal in Scotland, both constructed by Thomas Telford.

At Sjötorp there is also a museum, though it turned out to be closed so we went to the Baltzar cafe instead… Not so bad this winter day either, something to warm us up!
