At first I thought that I would start the new year kind of mild and just make one tackle today: cleaning my desk. You can see the results below. Quite a difference I’d say!

Lifecruisers desk before
Lifecruisers desk after

Then I happened to Stumble Upon a site with an excellent Map guide function Schmap.com that made me aware of other tackles I have to do. It called me back to the real world.

You know that we’ve been travelling a lot before? (If not read our travel report) And maybe you’ve noticed that we only travelled twice during 2006? This is mostly because of my health issues.

The Schmap Player is an excellent guide to different places in the world which is essential for a traveller and it made me aware of how much I really miss it… I really long for to go somewhere now. To explore. To enjoy. Ahh…

If only my health would allow me too… It’s mainly my back, stomach and my lack of iron I need help with.

So the tackle I have to make as priority #1 this year is: my health. I just have to kick my ass to act in the matter to find a new doctor that actually can help me. That’s how it has become in this real world.

It shouldn’t be that hard to achieve, it’s just that the health care here in Sweden is really bad for the moment, I’m sorry to say! We are left with the service of something called VÃ¥rdcentralen and they really don’t want to help with you with anything that may costs anything.

Like tests to see if I still got the lack of iron for an example. Can you imagine that they won’t test me for it again? I’m still going bald and feeling very tired, can’t say I notice any improvement and since I have problem to eat the iron pills, this don’t come as any surprise to me, but maybe for them.

The “fun” part of it is that they tortured me with forced me to go through a much hated gastroscopy back in June, they said it was so very important to find out the reason behind the lack of iron. Then when the results in the gastroscopy didn’t tell about any problems, they suddenly lost their interest totally.

After that they weren’t at all interested in finding out what’s wrong. They dropped me fast like a pooped diaper…. I’ve asked for tests several times, but I don’t even care to tell you about the respond to that, it makes me so mad even though it actually is like a parody.

So I must hunt for a private doctor that actually care for the patients. It might not sound like a hard tackle for you, but for me that’s not well, it sometimes feels like climbing Mount Everest!

Wish me luck :-)

Reminder rest Tit’s:

1. Kick my ass to find a new doctor
2. Deal with my health issues
3. Kitchen cupboards
4. Porcelain boxes
5. Clean bathroom
6. Clean hall closet
7. Basement storage
8. Sales ads

(Have you noticed that it keeps adding up tackles to this list all the time instead of the opposite? *lol*)

I wish you all the luck in your search for a Dr. that will take you seriously. My mother went through a similar situation a few years ago and her quality of life really declined. She FINALLY found a Dr. that was willing to listen to her and once they figured out what the problem was it was easily fixed. She is like a different person. I pray that you get the help that you need. All the best to you and your family in 2007.

Lifecruiser: Thanks. Yes, it really is so stupid to let people (not only me) suffer when it’s not necessary!

Desk looks great! I hope you can get some real help in the health department as soon as possible.

Lifecruiser: Yes, me too, I sure gonna make it prio 1 from now on!

Desk looks good, take care of your health and make it a priority, sometimes we put our health care aside, it happens but I am glad you are taking it seriously!
    God bless.

Lifecruiser: Yes, I’m gonna work on it real hard :-)

That desk looks great! Keep on top of the tackles and it will make your life so much easier! :) My cupboards weren’t that bad, but since they had already been tackled (a little while back) when they started to become disorganized, it was very apparent.

Good luck to you with your health! I hope you are able to find a physician that will help you get your health issues taken care of!

Lifecruiser: Thanks. Yes, I saw your cupboards and realized that mine is in a really bad need of a cleaning…hm.

Hey Lifecruisers. As you read, I’m back online and back on the web. Happy New Year to you all. I’m happy to read you’re going to make your health the most important issue of 2007. It’s the most important thing we have, after all. I know it can become a drag to visit doctors and take medicines and not feel instantly better, but keep at it. Once you do feel better some day it will all have been worth it, a lot!

Lifecruiser: Can’t we just jump to that day? *lol*

The desk looks great! I still need to tackle mine…maybe next week. Thanks for the StumbleUpon tip — we like travelling too so we’ll check it out. And good luck with your search for the right doctor. It’s hard but it will be worth it in the end.

    Oh, and thanks for visiting!

    Lifecruiser: You’re welcome :-) Hehe… I recognize that next week… I said that for half a year… *lol*

WOW – what a list – though your desk looks great  I wish you well on finding health care that will actually HELP your “healty” man – seems almost a contridiction in terms don’t it? Good luck – and keep your chin you – you WILL travel again – trust and beleive in yourself, take God for a ride in your heart, and you too will pull though – I just know it can be done!

Lifecruiser: Thanks for the kind words and support :-) I’m usually of very tough material so I guess I’ll getting through this too…

Oooh, I love your desk! My desk is on the “To Tackle” list for the upcoming weeks, thankfully it is in the basement and can wait for me to finish more pressing tackles, like my front room where EVERYONE entering my house sees. One room at a time though, today I did my first tackle, my bedroom & bathroom.

Good luck finding a new doctor, it is always harder than what it seems. My current doctor is a schmuck and totally needs ditched!

Lifecruiser: Thanks Heather. sounds like you’re a bit in ahead of me. I wish I had done as much as you! you must be pleased now. Sorry about the doc though! They shouldn’t be allowed to be like that!

How FRUSTRATING for you! I am so sorry to hear about the medical situation over there. In Canada we have long waits for some things, but eventually we get what we need.

I sure hope things improve for you in the new year!!! Good for you for tackling it all.

As for the firefox issues with my site – thanks for letting me know. I have no idea what is wrong. I will talk with Susan about it tomorrow. I use firefox myself and I am not having any problems. Very strange. Thanks for letting me know!!!

Lifecruiser: Thanks Janice :-) Hm, so it might be only me having problem, or at least not all Firefox users. Maybe it’s because I have it in Swedish – or some extension I have that cause the problem. I’ll try to do what I can to find out on my end too.

nice desk! Cleaning is my priority in my hous with two daughters of 15and 19! always the bathroom!
grrrrrrrr they need always to be beautiful but when you come after this room isn’t very beautiful!
Yes, you’re right : health is the priority after all is possible! Health systems aren’t perfect so try to do the best you can!

Lifecruiser: Oh, yes, I can see that picture with two daughters! *whistles* They shouldn’t need spending so much time preparing themselves, they’re young and already beautiful anyway :-)

    Hi Lifecruiser,
Guess I’m familiar with what you describe regarding your stomach problems and the public healthcares total neglection of the problem. I, in fact found the clue on my employers intranet. Then I went to my doctor and told what I was convinced caused the problems.. Result: A pill a day have hightend my quality of life to an extend I only a couple of years ago thought was a past situation for me (but I need to consider what to eat). I do not know if you suffer from the same as me, which you can read about here:
    http://www.gerd.com/

Wish the very best for 2007 and really hope you will be able to travel as before.

PS. What a clean desk (I started cleaning mine yesterday, and I must tell: Your “before” desk was really clean compared to mine).

Lifecruiser: Thanks for the tip – I will most certainly look that up at once! I’m grateful for every tip, since these days we have to know by ourselves what’s wrong with us…. It cant take some time to get on the track though, but I’m stubborn… *lol*

I sympathise with you about the poor state of the Swedish health system. VÃ¥rdcentralen here in my town is a shambles and I am thankful that I never have to go there (touch wood!)

I have been to see a private specialist at Sophiahemmet on Valhallavägen and they were fantastic there, so maybe they are worth looking into. There were a lot of different specialists with rooms there.

I hope you find someone to listen to you as good health is such a precious thing.

Lifecruiser: Yes, I can hear that you know how it is….. Thanks for the tip, though I already had planned to call Sophiahemmet tomorrow morning to hear if it’s possible to get an appointment there without a referral from VÃ¥rdcentralen and if it’s possible to get an appointment within reasonable time. I do hope so!

Finding a new doctor is a very difficult task for anyone to have to tackle. And in your case you need a specialist but what kind? I will pray for you to find the perfect one so that you can resume your worldly travels and not have to go out bald! My tackle was non existent this week. Hubby did help me rearrange the living room but I did not capture it in photos! I am taking on my craft room and the chore (ugh!) of finding a job! Hubby has agreed to me not having to work full time but I have to find a job that pays well for part time!

Oh well, your desk looks great! You did a very good job of cleaning it up. Wanna come do mine?

Lifecruiser: Well, I think that I need a general doctor at first, that then can send me to several specialists… Preferably before I get totally bald ;-) Sounds like you did a good tackle anyway and have some good ones on the way too. Searching for a good employment can be a hard one. I do wish you luck on that one!

How funny! My desk is on my list for next week’s tackle! It’s MUCH worse than yours though! Maybe that will lift your spirits!

Your list looks a lot like mine! I pray you’ll find that right doctor, having a health problem and not being able to find someone to do something about it is the worst, I know how you feel! I really hope you can find someone so you can again enjoy your travels!

Lifecruiser: *LOL* Well, you’re not the only one telling me that your desk is worse, so I guess we all are experts on making a desk mess huh? *lol* Thanks for the supporting words about the doc dilemma. I hope so too!

Coincidentally, I was cleaning up my room as well these past couple of days! And I have to say, my room definitely never looked any cleaner, neater or cooler than before. I added a few decorations, and it now looks like a comfortable hotel suite

Lifecruiser: Ah, isn’t it nice with a clean room? The only probelm is to keep it that way!! *lol*

You must look after your health first, LC. I’m glad you are making it a priority.

I’ve been tackling it Tuesday all week and, like you, I keep adding things to the list!

I have to be careful because I have back problems too. I’ve spent too many Christmas’s laid up because I’ve done something to exacerbate it so this year I am pacing myself. So far so good … touch wood!

Lifecruiser: I’m so glad you manage without any severe back problems this year! Keep it that way.

Yes, it tend to come too much things in the way all the time. Today it was visiting my other at the elderly home, but that’s a essential. tomorrow I’ll continue my hunt for a proper doctor!

Ahhhhhhh! Tackle It Tuesday — yes… hmmm… well… I’ll think about this! It’s not that I’m opposed to actually tackling the problems… I definately intend to do much getting rid of! But I’m not sure I want to POST my CLUTTER on the WWW! We’ll see though! I’m so brazen about sOMe things… seems a little silly to be relectant on this. Hm.

Lifecruiser: I know, it takes some time to get used to the thought, but once started it goes easily! It’s just that part to get started that is the problem :-)

Great tackle & great to see your very sexy looking work desk in action too ;)

All i can offer is that high levels of progesterone in my body, attributed to contraceptive use, was the cause of my “noticeable” hair loss. Not only on my head, but my body too – so i guess it had an upside!

I’ve never been able to shave without irritation, but whilst on progesterone-only contraceptive for about a year, i was surprised by how i could shave so much easier. I think the primary cause was that the contraceptive was causing a noticeable slow-down in the rate of hair re-growth. Coupled with hairloss on top – the results of shaving were almost like waxing on my legs/bikini line.

The contraceptive was actually quite good for me, but i’m on a journey to find the best balance (i.e treating myself like a gineau pig in a personal science experiment!). I’ve chosen to give my body a break from it for now. All the symptoms i had have gone and my body is getting the fast growing hair again, no big sheddings. The hair on my legs is more pronounced :S

Ironically, it’s decreasing levels of progesterone associated with hairloss, especially post-childbirth/menopause – but in my body? Now that i have less progesterone getting pumped into my body, there is *more* hair coming out? Go figure!

Has the condition of your skin changed since the problem began? More oily? Rashes? Dry? Do you feel “heat” in your body sometimes, like it’s burning from the inside?

Menstruation – has that changed? Noticed any changes in vaginal discharge or problems with “lubrication” during sex?

No obligation to answer – I’m intrigued because I was also on the same path of wondering if it was iron deficiency being the cause of it for me. Hope we can find the channel to discuss things further with time, but in the meanwhile i shall stay tuned for the reports ;)

I hope you find justice with your health and the shitty place this year! I’ll raise a toast to that ;)

Take care & Happy New Year!

Lifecruiser: Thanks Rachel for your kind concern. I don’t mind answer your questions at all! I have no idea of any levels of any hormones in my body, but maybe that’s something they should check up too when finding the right one to do it.
Skin changes? Can’t say if there is any noticable changes other than that I’m gloomy as I don’t look healthy…. Maybe more acne – more than I even had in my youth. But I have had feelings of heat sometimes, but not really like I’ve heard others had. And I’ve always had a strange thermostat ;-) in this body, it’s inherited from my mother, my sisters have it too. Menstruation changes? Sure, but it began after I tried 2 different kind of birth control pills in 2004, it never has come back properly since. It screwed my body up totally, but that’s another unpleasant story! No lubrication problems either, thank god!
That was an exceptional good toast – I really hope you find your balance too :-)
