“Med en enkel Tulipan uppÃ¥ bemärkelsedan, vi har den äran att fÃ¥ gratulera!” (With a simple Tulip on the special day, we have the honor of congratulating!”)
That is the beginning of an old traditional Swedish song that is mostly forgotten by now. I’ts only persons from the stone age like me that remember it nowadays
We went especially to a newly opened Tulip House here in Stockholm Saturday afternoon to get some nice Tulips to bring to Tricias 1 year blog anniversery. There isn’t anything more promising and hope giving than Tulip bulbs. It brings memories of the spring….
I first met Tricia from one of the blogrolls I’m participating in, but the one that interests me the most is this Green Thumb Sunday blogroll which she started in June 2006.
If you haven’t been at her Garden blog As the Garden Grows yet, I recommend you to have a stroll in her garden blog. You can find a lot of very useful garden information there together with many wonderful flower and garden pictures.
She is the most friendly and sweet Canadian nurse that actually is on a sick leave and need to nurse herself
In fact, she need to blog less according to herself. She is forcing herself to write too much ads-post for PPP to get in some money now when she isn’t working. She is going to swallow a camera pill next week to investigate her bowels from the inside and it’s just way too expensive!
I know from own experiences and from near and dear ones, how difficult it can be with bowel problems and diseases. If you never have experienced it – be very grateful. She has had a tough time and really is in the need of a good party.
The Party is over at Tricias Musings with the most wonderful Ice Garden and a very cool Ice Bar! Pop over and congratulate her and cheer her up with some nice birthday gifts!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww That’s so very nice of you to pretty much write your whole post for me. So very sweet. The tulips are beautiful. I love tulips.
You may not know this, but I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and it has the most wonderful Tulip Festival every year. The cities love of Tulips began after Canada was given 1000′s of tulip bulbs from the Dutch for Canada’s part in the World Wars.
I have a photo of me somewhere from when I was just about two years old wandering through a field just full of Tulips. Many of the tulips were only about a foot shorter than me! It’s a cute photo.
Thanks again and thanks for helping get my Blog Party off to a good start, MMMMM chocolate!
Lifecruiser: You’re welcome! No, I didn’t know that about the Tulip festival! Fun coincidence That must be a stunning event. The Dutch is real good at it yes. That photo – and experience -must be wonderful to have!
I know Tricia too but I didn’t that she were so sick ! Bowel deceases are terrible a friend of mine had this when she was a child and she couldn’t run around like the others. Now she is well. When she announced she would not blog anymore or less, I went there only occasionally, but it’s good that you let us know how she really is.
I think you are cheating (again) on the date ! Or you went to bed very late or you got up at 5am like me !
See, big sister is watching you ! Not only brothers. And then especially now when it’s cold I like to come over to warm up myself looking at your background, lol !
Lifecruiser: Yes, they truly are horrible. After all, we all depend on our bowel system to do their work…
When it comes to the date: I went to bed sometime after 4 o’clock this night, so let’s say that I’m a little tired today Awww, how sweet of you to watch over me Gattina, I feel so protected… From what I wonder though?! *lol*
You’re warmth welcome over at any time to warm up at our fire!!!!
Thanks a lot for reminding me of Trica’s blog anniversary! I am going to surf on to her straight away!
My today’s GTS post isn’t ready yet but you are more than welcome to pass by later on today.
A Tulip Shop in Stockholm? Wow, that sounds pretty cool! I love tulips and can’t way to having them flowering in my garden in May!
Have a great Sunday!
Lifecruiser: You do that Yes, isn’t it wonderful with a little pre-taste of the spring? Even if it’s in greenhouses they brought it up. it’s a wonderful sight
I love tulips and did not know of their being good luck or good fortune.
I suffered terrible bowel illness when I was married to husband #1. My nerves were so bad and that is where it affected me. I got so ill and nearly died. I will have to go over and wish her good health.
Lifecruiser: Yes, you do so and maybe we meet over there
Tulips! Oh my gosh, they’re like the prettiest flowers. They remind me of the Netherlands though
Oh yeah, my biggest fears is getting a constipation and I must say it gets so frustrating that at times, I was constantly cussing and trying to force out the little faeces from my body. *shudder* The horror!
Lifecruiser: Yes, Tulips really is connected to the Netherlands, for me too. OH, my, don’t scare me with visions like that… Maybe you have something else stucked in there? Are you sure you’re not pregnant? *LMAO*
You always know where the good parties are happening. Trica didn’t seem to mind that I brought double trouble. Fortunatly Stella behaved herself and didn’t wind up like the photo from the last party.
Lifecruiser: Oh, man, (and sisters!) THAT was a party… *whistles*
I haven’t been over to the party! I have a tummy ache today and don’t plan much on moving! Just wanted to say Hi to you and see what s going on and now I know! Give Tricia my best and I will try to stop by later!
Lifecruiser: I will. Oh, poor you. I hope it will be better soon!
Awww I love tulips! Those are beautiful
Yep, I also think Tricia’s pretty special!
Lifecruiser: Yes, they are so very lovely. Giving spring hope. And Tricia is as lovely as those Tulips
Tulips are some of my favorite flowers — and those photos are gorgeous! Is that one variety called Kung Fu? Really? Because that’s pretty cool…
I’ll swing by Tricia’s place next. Thanks for the heads up!
Genie
Lifecruiser: Thanks. Yes, they were called Kung Fu. I’m not sure where it came from though. They also had Tulips there from way back.
You are my HERO. Say no more than this fixed message:
Thank you for your last posting,
I’ve learned a lot
Pls be patient with me, my TP and broadband are definetly not my friends this evening. Pardon me, I have only some seconds here.
That’s why everyone will have the same short message.

Since you are sort of a neighbour, I’ll give you the opportunity to discover some moments from Diane’s 40 celebration (wfie of RennyBA)
Diane’s dat is January 23. Send her a something. OK?
Lifecruiser: Oh oh oh, still those problems. Not good at all. I wish I could swing my magic stick to get it all fixed!!!
Of course I’ll send Diane something, I’ll just have to think out what first! *lol*
I do LOVE tulips too! UNfortunately the moles and voles in our yard LOVE them too! For their FLAVOR! Grrrr… I don’t spend my money on them anymore because I never see their beauty for more than a minute before the critters eat them! It’s sad… but true.
Let me hop on over to Tricia’s place now and see what she has going on — ICE gardens huh? I love stuff like that!
Lifecruiser: Ah, so you have that problem in your yard. No fun. Yes, then it’s only to switch to species they don’t like. Unfortunately. I tried to spray with pepperspray for a while, but it’s even destrying the flower a bit so….
