 I haven’t rode one of them in years!!! Would love to again though… the live on the edge and that rocks!!! :) Great WW Mine is up as well!

Lifecruiser: This one was really on the edge and rocks, because it was on the island Crete in Greece and there is very high mountains and the roads are very narrow ones. Perfect place to have them.

If that donkey could speak he would say he was out of gas.

Lifecruiser: Hehe, yes, and I hope he was out of the natural gas too!!!! Eeeek.

I really like this photo but am wondering where his rider is. Yes, I have a curious nature. *s*

Lifecruiser: Yes, at that time we first spotted him, we were wondering that too, because the owner wasn’t to be seen anywhere. He had left him there on the road to do some work elsewhere, we saw him at the side of the road later. But it was a funny sight that he just stood there.

Happy WW! the donkey looks lonely… he probably doesn’t like the cement road, lol. This is not in Sweden, right? (love the way you can list your commenters right after the post and the way you can individually respond to each comment!!)

Yes, we were kind of amazed to find him alone there when we came driving. It’s on the Greece island Crete. There were high mountains and narrow roads there, even if it doesn’t show on this photo. We saw more donkeys carrying stuff. Sometimes with a rider and sometimes withe riders wife going way behind the rider…. Yes, the commenters list is one of my fav’s too, giving you some credit for commenting. And it’s easier to answer direct on the actual comment than have to scroll down to find the answer.

It’s almost like he’s watching and waiting for his rider!!! Great photo.

Thanks for dropping by my W W today.

Ver well behaved he is, kind of parked there, patiently waiting to do his duty.

Now that’s something you don’t see every day on the side of the road! Pretty little pack mule!

Lifecruiser: Personally I find this donkey very pretty. We saw others that weren’t at all in the same good shape as this one.

Lifecruiser: No, I guess it isn’t every day we see one…. Maybe I am one though….*lol*

    Was he abandoned?

    My WW is up too.

Lifecruiser: No, the owner was out on the fields and had parked him there temporarily, but it looked that way at first.

That is so great. I’ve always wanted to ride a donkey along the Grand Canyon – but I suppose Greece was way better!

Lifecruiser: Especially Crete because the whole islands is having high mountains and when you shall drive from north to south (and you do that a lot!), you have to pass these high mountains all the time. Stunnung breathtaking views, but also quite frightening for me as I’m afraid of heights….

What’s on his back? He looks like he needs to ask for directions!

Lifecruiser: Well, it seemed to be some kind of home made pack saddle.

I would have never guessed it was Greece! Maybe someday I’ll get to go visit, but I didn’t even realize I could ride a donkey while I was there :-D

Lifecruiser: Well, maybe you didn’t thought of it because it wasn’t particularly appealing to you :-)

Who’d of thunk I’d come here and see you showing your ass…..

Lifecruiser: Surprising hah? Isn’t it a fine piece of ass? *lol*

[heh] I figured that was better than echoing the ‘nice ass’ sentiments. :)

Lifecruiser: Though I do like the nice ass sentiments, I also like variation, so this was a nice one :-)

Lifecruiser: Well, no ride no. We’re kind of in a hurry… *lol*

Nice Ass. Looks like he’s looking out at those mountains thinking “wheres the truck, I’m not hauling you up those hills!”

Lifecruiser: Maybe he was on a strike, the union had put him out… *lol*

We have donkeys but they are on farms with the horses and cows and don’t have sadles on them hehe

Lifecruiser: They are useful to a lot of things. Mostly they were packed with things… and the man riding on top too – but his wife walking way behind!!!
