Yes, she has always been very candid and open about everything, it makes things so much easier. It's tough for her now because she has problems with the speech - luckily we understands her (better than the staff does). The main thing is to make them feel like you have all the time in the world to wait for them to get out the words and not stressing them, that will only makes things worse. Having taken care of my Dad in and out of nursing homes, I really thought I knew what was going on in his head. But she has really given me some insight into what a lot of what he was trying to tell me meant (he'd had a stroke, so his speech wasn't too clear anyway). She's so candid about everything!
