Driving in the spring on the highways is like a wirlwind of color.... Beautiful! Lifecruiser: Oh, I would love it they did that over here too! sounds fantastic! Actually, The Texas highway department spends lots of money to seed the roadsides every few years with new wildflower seeds…. Yet, they still survive with no care. They are truly survivors. I never knew Sweden was known for it's fields of such "weeds". A very stunning field indeed. In AZ, we have fields of weeds. Gorgeous poppies like yours of yellow and orange (almost like a Sunset) pop up overnight, when the first rains fall in the Spring. My MIL lives in rural AZ, where hardly anything green grows, except weeds. If it's pretty, she'll keep it weed or not! She won't pull them, she just lets them grow alongside her lovely garden! She says they add character! Good Luck with your nomination! You have my vote!! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Lifecruiser: I sure would like to go to AZ to see them too. I want to go around the world and explore :-) The weeds sure can add character, so she's right there. Thanks, you too. I agree weeds get the bad reputation. I love poppies and cornflowers. I'm sorry to hear that these natural beauties are decreasing. In Canada we have many flowers that we consider weeds but that are cultivated as garden plants in our gardens or other countries gardens ... buttercups, indian paintbrush, beebalm, milkweed, pansies, lilies, many wild grasses and several more. Lifecruiser: Well, we have some of them too. The Poppy in another bigger plant and a lot of others too. I love most of them even if these are my fav's. It's interesting though to see what other countries have! Beautiful photo! Closer to cities though you can come across fields of canola which have bright yellow flowers, and like your poppies, look like a beautiful blanket covering the entire area. Mass plantings can look so wonderful.. whether weeds, crops or wild flowers! Lifecruiser: I bet that is beautiful too, the colored dirt. I wish to go there some time and see it with my own eyes... We tend to get large fields of great coloured dirt ( as there hasn’t been a lot of rain lately). In the spring there are lots of queen annes lace and lilies growing wild everywhere. Hubby and I on one of our recent walks on the park found lots of weeds that were just beautiful. Some are very invasive to our area and taking over! But they sure are beautiful. I noticed you have been nominated over at Mysterious Ladys blog for an emmy! You go girl. I would vote for you but Hubby and I figure it is better to not! Hope you have had a wonderful weekend! Lifecruiser: I bet they're beautiful too. I love when the roadsides are full, it makes the ride so colorful and enjoyable. Thanks for the good luck wishes, I understand. I don't think I stand a chance though - there are so many good sites - so I'm rather calm about it :-) We don’t have as many fields full of flower or weeds that I know of but our roadsides are full of flowers.
