What makes a poker player a good player?

Posted by Lifecruiser in Odditys

Full House  We have been thinking a lot about
it, trying to figure it out when we
  have been practicing Texas Holdem
at pokersites. We know how   to loose our money, still learning
how to keep them and how to get
  them to grow.

The first thing we can see as no pros - is to stay cool, always be calm and wager only with very good cards. We have noticed that the position also has a meaning. We have been bluffing a lot, getting a huge stake, but then lost it the same minute, so we do not recommend that kind of play if you want to let your stake grow.

The best way to earn money playing netpoker is to play tight and we mean really tight. OK, it will take time to earn the big money, but better to be sure then sorry. For us it is entertainment, excitement and the possible chance to bluff at the right time and win the pot. That is really giving us a kick.

Every cent we can win on poker is on the plus account and would be enough for us for the moment. We are still learning and maybe some day even we can live on our pokerplaying.

We will share our experience on the way with you here, so be sure to come back and check out how we are doing. We are going to study the experts really hard and share their experience with you too. So in that sense, you can learn at the same time as we do.

If you have tips and advice – or just want to tell how YOU are doing at the poker table – we are glad to hear from you. The best way is to leave a comment below.

CU on the poker table soon!

Feel like dancing?

A good way to get to learn people (OK,
we admit that we mean women or
men) is on the dance floor.

What else opportunity can you find
that so fast allows you to get really
   close to someone?

OK, maybe not so close as in this
picture, if you do not know the
  person very well ;-)

If you can not dance, why not learn….? It truly is fun.

Not enough golf

Posted by Lifecruiser in Sports

Mr Lifecruiser golfing

Poor Mr Lifecruiser. He played in a golf competition yesterday, at his home course, and it did not go very well. At least not after his standards. His handicap was raised to 4 after that.

That is partly my fault, because I keep planning so many journeys (11 last year and 5 so far this year) that he do not get enough time to practice golf anymore. I said partly my fault, because I do push him to go out and play - even when we are away.

He does not find it so easy obviously, there are so much other interesting and fun things to do!

Of course, it does seem a little bit hard to go out and play golf when the sky opens and there comes cloudbursts ever so often….

Maybe he should start a new type of golf, poolgolf….?

Nothing but the truth

Posted by Lifecruiser in Odditys

I was just thinking: what if we should have one day when we only was allowed to say “the truth and nothing but the truth” about everything? Would that made us excited, relieved or just scared of the consequences…?

Think about it: Not even be able to use all this little white lies that some found so necessery. Pheeewww, that would be a hard days work for some people - not for us of course ;-)

“Hey, you look really awful today…”
“You got a really snotty nose…”
“Wow, what you look fat in that clothes…”
“What a little worm hanging out from your fly…
“Yes, it was me that was farting…”
“You are the worst teacher I ever have met…”
“I only married you because I could not find any one else…”
“I spent all our money on garbish…”

…..is not exactly what anyone want to hear….. Or is it? We have never tested it…

We personally find it too difficult to lie, it is much easier to tell the truth. And for what reason should we lie? Give us one reasonable reason…….. and we will probably not think it is reasonable anyway!

Besides that, we would never be able to handle the facts if we lied, we would not remember what we have said, but we always know the truth.

Conclusion: we have a conscience.

Simple as that.

Our kind of work out

Posted by Lifecruiser in Odditys, Sports

shopmen

This is really our kind of work out! Standing still, indoors and just look like you’re doing something useful ;-)

We are very fond of these men. We took the picture in Amsterdam in April this year.

No, they aren’t for real…. They stood in a shop window there. Rather cool we think.

What do you think?

To a ranch in Paraguay

Posted by Lifecruiser in Travel, Sports

We have one trip planned for the moment and that is to Paraguay in November. It feels really exciting to have something so very interesting and fun to look forward to!

We are going to stay at a ranch there and are allowed to help them (don’t know if we are any good at it though!)driving the herds of horses and cattle, branding the calves, the taming of colts and medical treatments and vaccinations.

We will se how much ridning we can cope with, not much I am afraid, because of my back, but I am glad just to be around there and see them working and learn a thing or two about their country and culture.

They also gives the opportunity to take both tennis and riding lessons, as well as lasso lessons!

You will get a report afterwards, how sore our butts are, how much cowboys there are in us and how much we enjoyed our stay there with all the nice people at the ranch :-)

Take a look in to it: Estancia Aventura

Do not miss the pictures on their start page! Just wonderful, we got really excited. *jumping up and down*

Please, let us know if you have been there already and what your experience of it was!

We are also gonna do the excursions to the breathtaking waterfalls of FOZ DE IGUAZU, which is on the border between Paraguy, Argentina and Brazil and people claim it to be even more beutiful then Niagara falls.

Well, maybe we now get the opportunity to compare theese two, because we maybe will go to US soon, if everything works like it should… Can not say more for the moment….

From Paraguay we are flying to Rio de Janeiro, staying there for 3 nights and then we continues to Natal, which have the finest beaches in Brazil….. Do I need to say any more….?

*we keeps smiling and smiling silly happily*
