Crete Fig tree babies

♥ Green Thumb Sunday ♥

When travelling you get to see a lot of interesting things, not only the most obvious tourist objects. This is a big Fig tree we spotted at the famous Knossos in Crete, Greece, on our honeymoon 2004.

Don’t miss to click on honeymoon above to read our post about it and see the photos we succeeded to take between all the kissing ;-)

I call this picture “The tree of life”, because for me it’s placed in a paradise and in my vision this looks exactly like a lot of babies climbing up the tree. Mother Nature has many ways of showing us marvelous things.

I know that other people can see other things in this picture too…

What do you see in this picture? (If you dare to tell us!)

This is indeed an incredible tree. I don’t have much fantasy – sorry…

Lifecruiser: Yes, it sure is. Don’t be sorry Iris, we’re all different and that’s a good thing :-)

I’m embarrassed to say that I see a phallic reference in that tree  (and later, the babies lol)

Hey, congrats on your nomination at the Weblog Awards!!!

Lifecruiser: Thanks deb :-) Aha! I just knew it! *lol* No need to be embarrassed, it’s the most natural thing in the world – but now we know whats on your mind ;-)

I’ll take your word for this. Can’t see what you see!

My Monday Memories is up–looking at family things in a book case. Check here. I think they’ll be easier to identify.

Lifecruiser: Funny, I was over at your blog about the same time when you were over here :-)

Now that’s a weird tree! Glad we don’t have those around here. Hope you are feeling better and congratulations on the nomination. One thing makes me happier than when I do well and that is when my friends do well! I know it’s just in the voting stage but you know I’ll open a Dom at any excuse and this is better than most. I’m taking time out from my vacation to vote for you every day.

Lifecruiser: Ah, thanks, thanks, thanks, Dave dear friend, we’re missing you a lot over here! We haven’t been drinking enough with Dom since you went on vacation :-) Cheers to the fight!

I see a face near the top and part of a hand just below it. I think the tree is gorgeous. I love the unusual.

Oh and yes of course I voted for you today. :)

Lifecruiser: Thanks Tricia. Your such a sweetie :-)

Very beautiful tree. If it’s a fig tree, why are all the ‘lil children nekked! Adam had a FIg Leaf to cover up.
My ‘lil ones would prefer to be in their birthday suits too.
The tree does remind me of a tree of life, just like my baby climbs up to get to me and give me a big hug!

Lifecruiser: Hm… good question really :-) Do you have any more good question that I can’t answer? *lol*

    Hey! I can see what reminds me of that “Rock Biter” guy in the Neverending Story movie! ( http://www.neverendingstory.com/images/Image047.jpg }

Like Tricia, i can see a face at the top (triangular) – after her comments mentioning a hand – i can see one too (middle section towards the left side) and it looks like it’s doing the “up yours” gesture with the middle finger or maybe even picking it’s nose! *lol*

This picture made my son crack up, also gave amusement to my husband. We were looking & talking about my bonsai fig today and my husband asked if it had any babies yet. Yes – a few, but they don’t look as good as your picture yet! :D

Lifecruiser: Ha ha ha… it does look alike – maybe this is the Wood Biter-version… :-) ))) I really love this tree, I’ve never seen anything like it and I can look at it many times and dicscover new thing sor new thoughts. Just like life itself. i’m glad that you enjoyed it too.
