The next world championships for bodypainting artists are July 13 – 19, 2009, in Seeboden in the South of Austria. Within the contest is also the former European championships and the national championships.

I really wish I could go there myself, but it’s during our summer paradise island vacation and I doubt that we’ll change that… but you’ll never know. Maybe another year?

Interested? Go to World Bodypainting Festival where you can find all sorts of detailed information about the events, maps and photos from earlier festivals.

If you should decide to go there, don’t forget to tell me about it, take tonnes of photos and report back to me about it!

Just check in this marvelous video with Mark Reid, who was ranked 3rd in the World at the World Body Painting Festival 2008. He is painting jeans on a girl.

I want to have painted clothes too! How cool wouldn’t that be. Though there is one problem as I see it: how the heck do we solve the sweating problem…? Is the paint waterproof?

Maybe we’ll see bodypainting as the next fashion trend soon…?

Wanna know more about how they do bodypaintings or start to paint yourself? Check out Bodypainting Techniques and Design Ideas. Maybe you even can get some ideas for Halloween…?

I can think of many fun things to paint on a body, that would definitive start up my creativity much more than anything else!

Some products used in bodypainting are special products from Mehron and Makijaz.

There are also great information to find at the Worlds Bodypainting Association.

Some other bodypainting events to travel to:

…plus the event we visited recently, the first one in Sweden, which we got so many photos from that I’m still sorting them. It’s because it’s so difficult, there were such a creativity!

Next post (any day now) will be with our photos – promise!

I would have problems with someone painting my body. First of all there are the numerous skin folds to navigate, then there is standing completely still while someone slaps cold paint on me and then, there is the tickling sensation as the brush skims over sensitive parts of my body…ooooh, that tickles! Hmmm, could be quite, um, saucy, actually…heheh!
