We have hade very different experiences on our roadtrips here at Tenerife Island. From excellent weather and views to very bad weather with rain and fog making us barely seeing the road!

I must start saying that i had written a long post describing this and accidently deleted it (do not ask me how!), so you will have to do with a short replacement since the time is running out at my time at the computer.

We have been around all the island except in the middle where the mountain Teide is, because it has to be great weather going up there otherwise there will be clouds and no sight!

We have been to the Masca valley in the west coast which is our absolute favorite so far, such a beautiful valley and very curvy roads to go there, high mountains roads which we seem to favor for some odd reason since we are both afraid of heights!

There is a restaurant up there with a stunning view over the valley where we did enjoy the view.

We have also been to Tenerifes best beach Playa de las Teresitas with sand brought from Africa and gorgeous palm trees making a tropcial feeling.

We did try to go to La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz one day but it was rainy and such a fog up there on that side of Tenerife so we could barely see the road and had to turn around.

Los Gigantes is a 450 m high rock we visited too, not so much to see we thought but there is a nice little village Puerto de Santiago, well worth a visit. A black lavasand beach in the middle with high waves and some nice restaurants by the sea.

At the Neptuno restaurant we sat and enjoyed the sun go down over the La Gomera island. A bit cold in the evening, but you know that we know how to keep warm…

Sounds beautiful, captain. Wish there was some pics to see, but its too bad your post got deleted. As for keeping warm, there’s two ways to do that – One involves a bottle and one involves Mr. Lifecruiser. Which one was it?

Yes, you both know how to stay warm in the very best of ways. Have fun. Big hug. :)

Actually, Mount Teide in the fog is beautiful. Not the best photo, but take a look at this photo of Mount Teide’s forest in the fog. It was actually magical to drive through.

The very best ‘in a nut shell’ travel report I’ve seen

You know I love winter and snow (-10) in Mariestad New Years Eve – so sometimes I was thinking of you (and envy you).

Btw: See my last post; may I ask for your support?

Sounds you have great great time when we have a cold weather here in South of France! It was even snowing yesterday in Marseille! It is the panic when people don’t use with snow! People staid at home waiting the end of snow!

Nice to hear from you and that you take no risks in foggy weather.
(We know all about that – from several different countries – Anna had to go in front of the Car to realise where the Road was).

Black Sand Beaches. Hmm, it sounds like it’s Volcanic?
(Have only been a simililar one – in Chile – at the Villarica Lake under the Volcano with the same name – still active)

Hope you, well we know, have a great time.
And be happy to have avoid the cold weather up here in the North.

btw. I think we will share your magnificent gift to Anna – the Dom – on Saturday, with my childhood friend Frode and Astrid.
They will visit us for a Cod dinner + +.( You met them at the 3×20 party – Frode without much hair left, so say it descretly)
