You all know how much I love to travel and that I haven’t been able to do so much travel for the last 2 years, among other reasons also because of health reasons. I’ve been very worried from time to time that I never would go travel again!

I even began to feel that the time was running away from me, that I didn’t have that many traveling years ahead of me. I was beginning to feel too old already at 48 years age. (Well, you too would feel old with my body… *cough*)

Silly me. Now I feel like I can relax. I just decided that I’ll never be too old to travel!

How come? Well, it’s not only because my health has improved, but also when reading this article from Reuters about a 102 year old heading for New Zealand to start a new life, together with his 87 years old wife!

So, if I start planning now, we might be able to move to some nice retirement location with tropic climate when I’m 87 year – and Mr Lifecruiser will be 94 then. Perfect, pure youth ;-)

Or, come to think about it, maybe the global warming has changed the climate that much by then so we only have to move to the summer paradise island Gotland, outside Swedens east coast?

Do I have to mention that we already are in the queue for an apartment there? *giggles*

Remember my earlier travel curses? I’ll stick to my regular statement: It had been more boring to be ill at home!

Nothing should stop us from exploring this wonderful world…

Captain World Lifecruiser

I agree, no one is too old to travel. There are so many wonderful experiences that can come from traveling that everyone should should do it if they get the chance no matter how old they are.

Ah that’s good news ! Become each year younger ! you will see when your (probably) menopause is over you will feel like a fish in water. Looking back I realize that I felt very bad at that time too, but didn’t realize it at all had a lot of health troubles too. It’s funny that you mention the old imigrant, I just did it too in my compiled News, lol ! BTW you missed my cat family for Fun Monday.
I am busy to put my travel blog in order and an Index on the top because I hadn’t noticed that when once a long time ago I changed the template all pictures were upside down and the texts a little everywhere in all old posts from 2006 !

I have shared your concern about being unable to travel in the future due to health reasons. But as I shake this rather stubborn cold, I’m planning a new trip myself, so I refuse to let my body hold me back. I hope you have the same resolve. I admire that couple in the article!

What a wonderful world, indeed.. and I love that song!

Me and hubby love to travel although we’ve confined our ventures to the States so far. We avoid the tourist traps and tend to enjoy the trip as much as the destination. :)

I haven’t traveled outside the country yet but I love the thought of traveling and experiencing new things. Perhaps in the near future I can travel with my family.

I hope that you can continue to travel to different places and enjoy the best of life.

I so much agree: you’ll never get too old at least to want to travel!

I know you prefer warmer climate – you hot blooded Scandinavian – so when you hop over today or tomorrow, you might like to take some warm clothes on first (or you could always ring the door bell, and we let you in for hot chocolate :D

I’m sure you soon will be fit for travelling again, like my mothers cousin. She was 97 last time she went from Portland, Oregon to Oslo, Norway. Captain, that’s twice your age to day. Which means, when you during this year will regain your full health, you have at least half your life before you as a traveller.
She told me she stayed so fit ’cause she was drinking buttermilk and did Ballroom dancing at least once a week- besides laughing.

PS. Satchmos Wonderful World is among my top fav’s.

You are never too old to travel. Did you know that Senator John McCain’s mother, Roberta McCain and her twin sister are bot 95 years old and they’re still traveling by road and air across the world? In fact she just got her passport rnewed for 10 more years.

I just turned 30 and wanted to travel so many time, now that I have saved enough and not currently attached to “that someone”. I have been thinking of traveling to as many as many places that I can possibly reach.

I don’t even know how I came about your site but, that was a nice video and it would be nice to see what I can now.

That sounds like a great idea Christian! Please do travel, because you’re probably going to regret it later if you don’t :-)

Before you do, check up different travel sites where users give their own reviews on trips they have done.

    Some examples:
    http://www.igougo.com/
    http://www.virtualtourist.com

Maybe you even can find travel company there, who knows…

There is so much to explore in this wonderful world and you’re exactly in the right age for it – I wish I had started that early!!!

My last blog post is about Portugal and we’re going to the southwest of Spain soon, to stay for several weeks in March, so welcome back if you wanna read something from there too :-)

Just take a plane or a train and GOOOOO ;-)
