We’re not the only Scandimaniacs at Gotland and Fårö right now. Last night we went to an unusual Cabaré performance at Galleri Tovat together with all the others staying at the farm at the moment.

The Swedish actors Emil Lager and Sara Lewerth, based in Paris normally, are making a performance mix of classic cabaré with their own touch of irony in a very amusing and fun way. Making fun of life, love and politics, but in a very refreshingly funny way.

Influenced by: Bob Dylan, Dr Dre, Outkast, Cornelis, Guns ’n’ Roses, Nick Cave, Hound Dog Taylor, Christian Dam, Charlie Chaplin, Astrid Lindgren, August Strindberg, Ruiz Záfon, Jimi Hendrix, all the bad people making us feel obliged to write music to change them and all the good people!

I think they’re on the right track there, making fun and still have a message in their performance too. Totally crazy humor that you simply can’t resist – a performance at the best!

They had great success with us all for sure, since they had the right twinkle in the eye and were having fun during the performance – we laughed a lot and had a really good time.

I truly recommend them to every one that has the chance! If you need a good laugh, don’t hesitate – just go there! You’ll have a smashing time!

They performance tonight too and 23-27 July at Galleri Tovat (follow the sign at the right hand of the road just in the beginning of Fårö when you have arrived with the ferry from Gotland.

Have a look at Lifecruisers photos of Scandimaniacs or you can check them up and listen to them at Scandiamaniacs Myspace page.

Next post will be about Galleri Tovat, which deserves an own blog post.

Looks like quite a funny performance. It is my experience that Sweden is good with this kind of cabare mixture of comedy, music and fun! Glad you are enjoying your vacation!!!

I am leaving this morning for one week summerschool in Libramont on the way to the Ardennes. I attend a photo and photoshop course there and will live together with students of age 16 to X in a boarding school ! I have done this years ago for painting. It is a Summer Academy for musicians, theatre, fashion, painting, drawing, sculpturing etc. My son offered me a drawing pad for my computer for my birthday, he told me that I would need it !
Hopfully I find a good Internet connection !
