The Royal Swedish Opera House in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. A majestic neo-classical building which is impressive even to those who are not architecture fans like we are.

Stockholm Royal Opera House, Sweden

The Opera house has an unusual story: the Swedish king Gustav III was shot down in the opera, during a masquerade in 1792 and died a week later. This is said to have inspired the opera Un Ballo in Maschera by Verdi.

The Royal Swedish Opera House is well worth a visit, it has a very beautiful inside too with a stunning golden hall as well as great opera and ballets performances.
