Don’t miss our beautiful capital of Sweden, Stockholm, in the end of the video – or the Swedish girls before that… *giggles*

Both of us are born, raised and live in Stockholm right now. Maybe for the rest of our lives too or maybe not. We have been thinking of moving somewhere else. We’ll see when and if it happens.

Since we always are writing about how wonderful it is to travel and see other places, it might sound like we’re not fond of our home country or city. That’s not the fact, we love our home country and are very proud of it.

What we don’t love about it, is the long winters. Like today: it has been snowing all day, just when we thought that finally maybe the spring had arrived…

I wouldn’t want to trade away the summer in Sweden. Never.

I am a huge admirer of both my country (Australia) and yours (Sweden). My latest post comes from Stockholm. The video has some stunning images of Sweden. Sometimes you need to travel to remind yourself of the special place that your home country is…

You’ve all the reason to be proud of your country and you know Diane and I love it too. We call Mariestad our paradise you know :-) (and we can confirm; We where there this weekend and had snow too)!

Maybe its because it looks very much like Norway ;-)

?: The music in the beginning: *Akk Vermeland du shöna’? *giggles* I can see, I’m not that good in Swedish after all!

“Ack Värmeland Du Sköna”/”Värmlandsvisan”, may be roughly translated as “Oh Värmland Thou Land of Beauty”. A very traditional Swedish folksong.

You might find it somewhat familiar @Renny, because In Edvard Grieg’s incidental music for Peer Gynt, “Åse’s Song” is said to be similar in melody :-)

I would love to visit one day. Much of this I didn’t know. What a beautiful country. I’ll come in summer though. I’m not a fan of snow.

Have a terrific day. Thanks for the awesome video. :)

I think we all think once in our lives of moving away and live elsewhere. We thought we would live in Italy after our retirement when we were 30 ! but meanwhile Mr. Gattino supports his country for max 2 weeks than he gets fat up of the exhuberance of his compatriotes and is happy when he is back home ! I love living here dispite the bad weather and I prefer to travel then to move. I cut the winter by going to Egypt each year in November, that helps !

Maybe you should get yourself a winter home in Spain. You can call your friends over, and create the new Spanish armada.

What a fabulous video LC. You know, I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know much about the northern countries of Sweden and Norway until I started reading yours, Tor’s and Renny’s blogs. Both countries are so beautiful and although I hate the cold and would have to come in summer, I’m being slowly seduced by the beauty of the north.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean! Rainy season in Niger is the greenest season of the year, and yet I prefer to stick around for hot season (!) just to be able to go to Sweden during summer. Swedish summer is amazing – WHEN it’s not raining. :-D

There were many things in the video that I recognised. I have learned quite a lot in my soon 10 years here. Yes we also love Sweden and the summers are fantastic. The winters are as well, I am finding the snow amusing this year just so long as I don’t have to drive too often. We have a great mass transit system so my car can just rest safe and sound and damage free in its garage. I am beginning to wonder now though….who forgot to order spring this year? It wasn’t my turn to order spring? Was it yours? they are a bit late on the delivery!
