Tonight we’re boarding a cruise ship to Helsinki, Finland, something I had sworn to never do again. Read about my first trip together with Mr Lifecruiser to Finland (if you dare).

So WHY am I doing this? It would be foolish to not use the free tickets we got at Silja Line to use before the last of April – which we upgraded to a spacier and more luxury cabin.

Yay for Champagne in the cabin! I’ll be thinking of all of you, but especially our loyal old cruisers, making a toast for you together with Mr Lifecruiser.

I might send some Twitter update of the trip, so keep an eye on Lifecruiser at Twitter.

This cruise will be from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning when we arrives in Helsinki at 10am and get to explore Helsinki until 05.00pm when we return again. We’ll be home in Stockholm again at 09.30am Friday morning.

Right now when writing this, it’s gray clouds and no sun, but they have promised that the sun will peek through the clouds on Thursday, the day we’ll explore Helsinki and above all: the temperatures is rasing now both in Stockholm and Helsinki.

We’re just copying the Vikings. Well, not the plundering, (I think, who know what all the Champagne will make us to do? *giggles*) but the Viking routes and partying.

After all, being born up here in the north must mean that we have some Viking blood in us, right?

Keep your fingers crossed that we can avoid snow storm and seasickness this time….

Well, captain, the Vikings used to ransack castles, I think… Maybe you could ransack a couple of shopping malls. And make sure you get lots of pictures.

I hope this trip makes up for the bad one. Just have fun and I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that there isn’t any snow.

Have a terrific time. Big hug. :)

In a way I do understand you very well.
Like taking the ditto from Oslo to Denmark or Germany.

After all, it’s a break out from daily life, and as we know you both, you will handle such a journey the positive way.

btw. You remember the toastmaster at Anna’s 3×20?

Helsinki is a good base to explore Talinn, Estonia. I did not manage to visit Estonia last time while in Helsinki.

Thanks for the toast to loyal old cruisers – I’m proud to be counted in!

I’ve never been to Helsinki – only Rovanjemi – in Finland so thanks for taking me with.

Like Tor says: Reminds me of the same kind of ferry trip as to Denmark or Germany.
