The jury was very impressed over all the contributions and it was not an easy decision to make! At one point I almost decided that there will be a lot of prizes, but I gathered some strength finally to choose one.

There were so many criterias to consider. Should I just stick to the crazy criteria or beautiful or original? At one point I even were ready to just draw some hat without any judging at all!

Melli has showed us several fantastic hats earlier that might had been winners too, so I was almost prepared to choose her as the winner, but as always in competitions you’ll never know what happens in the finals! That’s what makes it so exciting.

Gattinas hat were choosen because of it’s both craziness AND creativity, no one can’t say that this hat not is like an artwork! I mean, this cruiser has a whole garden – or world – on her head! Just look at it – there is even a tree!

I symbolize it with this crazy world cruise we’re doing too.

Congratulations x millions Gattina We’re expecting you to wear this hat when your taking us out on the Brussel market today.

The prize has been changed from being a cyber prize to become a crazy but real prize, so Gattina: leave me your address in an email and I’ll send you the prize!

Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!!! I thought to myself that Gattina’s was best over all. She did a lot of work designing that hat, and it’s perfect for cruising the many different ports!!!—You did great with your choice Captain. I really think Gattina was deserving of the prize!!

And it was fun, tho I ended up with egg on my face, I truly enjoyed the parade of hats.

And I am now waddling back to my berth from eating so much at the huge market in Brussels!!!!

I saw a cruise ship at port at the bridge run/walk yesterday. I’ll have to post it later. It was called “Norwegian Majesty”. I took a picture of it.
