When Friday become Momday

Posted by Lifecruiser in Odditys

Today is the big M day as in Moving Momday! Almost 80 years old she is moving. Again.

Not to a luxury home.
Not to Spain.
Not to Greece.

Just further up on the road.
Just to a new building.
To a new elderly home.

She deserve that first alternatives we can’t give her, but we can give her our love and support.

So we’ll be at the elderly home, where we really fit in!

UPDATE:

The new house actually is very good, it’s bright, nice air, more space, more modern. But the staff were rather confused over a lot of things, very many new ones in the staff which isn’t a good thing when it comes to handle things properly.

My Mom were tired of course, but also feeling very confused, not only because of the fact that she is on a new place, but because a lot of things is not wellknown to her.

Unfortunately they seem to have placed her among strangers only, she could see no one from her old group around the dinner table.

Most of the staff is strangers for her and on top of everything, they put out the light in her room tonight. That is a catastrophy. She always have the lights on in the nights, so she doesn’t get scared. Luckily my oldest sister went there to check things up.

Tomorrow, my two sisters will be there and on sunday my brother. Good thing that we’re several siblings and can alternate!!! Phew!

Cruise list: Dot, Froggie, Irish Church Lady, and Kasia.

She’s blessed to have daughters to check up on her.

Lifecruiser: Yes, but we’re bleesed with such a wonderful Mom too, it’s her doing that we made it through life, so it’s only fair that we look after her now after she dedicating her whole life to us :-)

I’m glad to hear that moving day went well for your Mama. So many new things for both sides of people to learn and get used to.

Lifecruiser: Sorry to say that it went well that far, then it turned more bad. The staff have left her screaming by her own very much. And we suspect that she needs fluid, on the edge to be dried out, but it’s difficult to get them to check it up. That’s the least they should do. She has ended up on hospital once because of this… *sigh*

I was so glad to see your report on the move at the homes. I was thinking of your Mom and wondering how she was doing.
It sure must be real hard for your Mom with so many new people around now. My heart goes out to her. I was so hoping that at least one from the old home would be in a room near her and that at least one familiar staff face would be taking care of her.
Moving to a strange place is hard, but all unfamiliar faces has to be very hard and even a bit scarry for her to handle.
Tell her I send her some warm huge hugs and lots of love. I still wish we lived closer as I would have loved meeting her. We could have chatted all afternoon and might even have found some things to laugh about.
Hope they have a piano in the new home where your Hubby can play it while you all sing with the music. I know how much your Mom enjoyed that.
    Good Luck with the voting.

Lifecruiser: Thanks for your concern Dot. I’ll tell her that. I know she would have loved your company. She has a tough time right now, but we do hope that it gets better of course. There is a piano at the same floor, but far away in the other end. We’ll see if we can play sometimes. It depends on if it can be disturbing for some of the nearest rooms or not.
