This is an Atlantic Ocean King Crab the fishermen in Mallaig harbor (west coast) in Scotland catched. It had a width of about 35 centimeters (13-14 inches). One of the biggest of the fishermen was obviously choosen to deal with the crabs claws. He had a very hard time broke them so they couldn’t grip something it shouldn’t…
Secret whisper: Maybe he should have worn a suspensoar too…?
Cruise list: Julia, Skittles, Karen, Mar, Fartin martin, Barbara, Eph2810, Haleigh Anne, Peri, Mandy, Tutu, TN Chick, Better safe than sorry, and Wystful1.

That was exactly my thought too TNChick!

No, Tutu, we didn’t eat the claws, not a bit from the crab to be exactly, just equally fresh lobsters and salmon.

    Hello me old mate!

Took my wife when we were young to a small cafe in a Cornish seaside port once and told her of the wonders of eating a nice fresh white meat crab sandwich. Two men with moustaches wearing flowered dresses (they turned out to be two sisters!) came out from the back room to serve us and I politely asked for two fresh crab sandwiches.

What seemed like an hour later one of the sisters returned with two sandwiches, the bread was so stale that I could have used the slices for tiles on my roof and all the crab meat was brown with lots of sand in it!

After a couple of mouthfuls one of the sisters asked if everything was okay, I stood up thrust the sandwich into her face and managed to get her in a head lock on the floor “Listen you Mother ******* this food isn’t fit enough for the seagulls to eat” I shouted, that’s what I should have done but being a typical polite English man I said “Oh, the sandwiches are delightful!”

We managed to wrap them in a napkin and stick them into my wife’s handbag.

I do not think that I have had a crab sandwich since, but right now you have made me feel rather hungry so I am off to raid the larder!

    Goodnight!

We just LOVE your storys fartin martin! We started to laugh at the row of the two men in flowered dresses :-) and didn’t stop… *still laughing*

Hope you can sleep after the raid and don’t get nightmares from eating too late….

Glad I made you both laugh!

It is after 1.30 in the morning here so I better creep into bed next to the wife and if she wakes I will just have to tell her I have been out of bed to the loo!

I love your photos, what a great couple you look!

What a lovely country you live in!

I used to know a Swedish au pair who was rather pretty and used to pick our friends children up from school, because she did not know anyone I used to try to make the effort to speak to her (not just because she was young and pretty!)

One day whilst waiting in the playground with the kids I saw one of the children accidentally step on a snail and part crush it.

I was talking to the Swedish girl at the time and because I do not like to see things suffer I asked her to excuse me and walked over to the snail and with my big boots crushed it to put it our of it’s misery.

I walked back to the girl with a smile on my face thinking that she would think what a nice caring man I was but her face was just filled with a look of horror!

Now, the girl did not see the child ‘part crush’ the snail all she saw was me walk over and stamp on the snail! I think she thought what a nasty man for stepping on innocent little creatures; I tried to explain that I was ‘being cruel to be kind’ but she never spoke to me again!

The poor girl probably went back to Sweden saying all British men were so cruel!

    Goodnight!

Oh, that explaining part never works after a blunder… I so know what you’re talking about, I always feel like it makes it even worse!

Well, Martin, it’s 2:50 in the morning here and how on earth shall we be able to sleep now after we’re laughing too much and get cramps from your storys…

That’s cruel of you - but we LOVE when you’re being cruel ;-)

Hope you have a good night, sneak in to bed carefully…

Thanks fartin martin, there is sunday here, but not SUNday… Typical. It’s all grey and boring, so we have another excuse to stay indoors in front of the computers :-)
